David Isaac CBE Appointed as New Chair of the Henry Moore Foundation

The Henry Moore Foundation is delighted to announce that David Isaac CBE has been appointed Chair of its Board of Trustees effective December 2024.

David will succeed Sir Nigel Carrington, who is stepping down after ten years of dedicated service. The Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to Sir Nigel for his invaluable contributions and leadership during his tenure.

David Isaac brings a wealth of experience from his career in law, public service, philanthropy and the arts. He currently serves as Provost of Worcester College, Oxford and Chair of University of the Arts London. He chaired Modern Art Oxford for nearly two decades and served as a Trustee of 14-18 Now, which led the country’s artistic response to the commemoration of World War One with key projects such as the Tower of London Poppies installation.

“I am honoured to be appointed Chair of the Henry Moore Foundation. Henry Moore’s work has left an indelible mark on the world of sculpture, and I am excited to contribute to the Foundation’s mission of bringing the power and significance of sculpture to wider and more diverse audiences.

“I look forward to building on the Foundation’s successes to date and working with its talented team to continue Henry Moore’s visionary legacy.”

He was also a board member of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund and the Big Lottery and a senior equity partner at Pinsent Masons LLP.

As Chair of the Henry Moore Foundation, David Isaac will steer the organisation in its mission to support ground-breaking sculpture projects, continue its international exhibitions programme, and further Moore’s legacy in the global art community.

“We are thrilled to welcome David Isaac as Chair of the Henry Moore Foundation.

“David’s exceptional leadership across a range of sectors, combined with his passion for the arts and commitment to promoting equality, makes him an outstanding choice to guide the Foundation into its next chapter.

“I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to advance Henry Moore’s legacy and champion sculpture worldwide.”
