Our location
Find us next to Leeds Art Gallery on Victoria Gardens, with Leeds Town Hall just a little further down the road.
Close by are Millennium Square, Leeds City Museum and Leeds Cathedral, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the shopping areas of Briggate, Leeds Trinity and the Victoria Quarter.
Leeds train station is a five-minute walk away, and there are many secure car parks located close by.

Offering an ideal setting for discussion and planning, the Institute offers a creative backdrop for productive meetings.
The Studio
Our brand new learning and engagement space is perfect for creative workshops, board meetings, training sessions and away days.
The Studio is on the second floor of the Institute, overlooking Victoria Gardens.
Room setup is flexible: the eight tables can be joined together for board meetings, separated for smaller group settings, or removed to increase the seating capacity for a theatre style event.

Toilets
The Studio has its own private toilets, comprising three gender-neutral superloos (self-contained cubicles with a toilet and sink), one of which is fully accessible.
Presentation screen
There is a large, 75″ TV screen that you can use for giving presentations or showing videos.
We use a ‘Meeting Owl 3’ intelligent 360° camera, mic and speaker, which is perfect for immersive hybrid meetings.
Breakout space
There is a side room attached to The Studio that can be used as a breakout space, with comfortable seating and low tables.
Seminar room
Located on the basement level, our seminar room is ideal for audio visual presentations and training courses.
Typically arranged with theatre-style seating, there is a dedicated projector with wall-mounted speakers, making it a great place to host lectures or discussions.

Accessibility
The Studio and the Seminar Room can both be reached by lift, along with our galleries, shop and library. The only part of our building that does not have step-free access is our internal link to Leeds Art Gallery, which has step-free access at the front of the building.

Step-free entrance
We have an accessible entrance via lift (doors 100cm wide) on Cookridge Street, bringing you onto the ground floor of the building.
Internal lift
There is an internal passenger lift (doors 72cm wide) to all floors of the building.
Induction loops
There are induction loops at the main reception desk, library reception and in the Seminar Room.
We have a portable induction loop available for visitors to use in the galleries and in The Studio (please ask at reception).

The cost of your booking depends on the room(s) hired, number of guests, length of hire, timings and date.

Our opening times
Our rooms are typically available Monday to Friday, 10:00–17:30.
We can offer full day, half day or hourly hire rates.
Out-of-hours hire
Evening and weekend hire may be possible for an additional fee.
For bookings outside our regular opening times, we require at least two weeks’ notice.
Availability
Our rooms frequently get fully booked, as they are also used for public events and private educational workshops.
We recommend giving as much advance notice of your event as possible.
