Artist-led walk
A Journey of the Spaces In-Between, with Shaun C. Badham
14:00–15:30
Studios & Gardens, Hertfordshire

Gather together on the summer solstice for an artist-led walking tour, where you’ll encounter the spaces, stories and themes in between Henry Moore’s sculptures.
Join artist Shaun C. Badham on a discursive walking tour around Henry Moore’s gardens. Shaun will take you on a journey of the in-between spaces that tell us more than we might think.
Topics of discussion will include:
- how methods of installing sculpture can suggest permanence or impermanence
- how adaptable architecture facilitated Moore’s sculpture making
- can non-linear walking create desire path?
- the history of land from private to semi-public
- animals as audience and architects
- how does public art operate in these grounds compared to the wider public realm?
- reflections on Moore’s relationship with Stonehenge on this solstice day
Stopping at twelve spots across the site, there will be chance for group discussions and sharing as Shaun offers personal thoughts and prompts at each location.
