Explore encounters through an exclusive screening of unique film footage from the Henry Moore Archive’s extensive moving-image collection.

In this June screening, join us in the Aisled Barn to view excerpts from two thought-provoking documentaries on Henry Moore. Presented by Laura Barlow, Senior Curator of Collections and Research and Joe Kitchen, Digital Image Coordinator.

Camera Three Presents: Henry Moore (1975) was presented by Moore’s friend Rosamond Bernier and produced to mark the inauguration of the Henry Moore Sculpture Center at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto. This extract from the programme features Moore discussing how he first came to be connected with that city, and the conception of the gallery.

Henry Moore (1986): Presented by John Read, who has had a lifelong connection with Moore, this 50-minute documentary offers an intimate exploration of the artist’s journey and creative process. Originally broadcast on September 7, 1986, the film features compelling footage from Moore’s studios and personal reflections from Read, who provides unique insights into Moore’s world. It shows the vibrancy of Moore’s early days in Hampstead, the significance of his monumental works, and the transformative landscapes that inspired him, all beautifully captured through Read’s lens.
