Two women wearing winter coats and bobble hats plant bluebell bulbs in a woodland

About this event

Lend a hand to our gardens team on the last day of our visitor season, and help us to add another 10,000 bluebell bulbs to the woods near The Arch.

Last autumn, we started to re-populate our woodland with native English bluebells. We’re doing the same again this year, and they’ll flower next spring. You can use your annual ticket to come back and see them bloom.

Drop-in at anytime between 11:30–15:00 and make your way down to The Arch meadow. There you’ll find our gardens team, who will give you some bulbs and guide you through how and where to plant them. Plant as many or as few as you like, every little helps.

We’re happy to welcome gardeners of all ages, but please make sure children are accompanied at all times. Please bring a trowel, kneeler and gardening gloves if you have them at home. Our gardeners will have some to lend out, but supplies will be limited.

Tickets

This workshop is included in an annual ticket. It’s a drop-in event, so there’s no need to book.

  • If you already have an annual ticket, just come along on the day and bring your annual ticket with you.
  • If you do not have an annual ticket, you can buy one online or from the ticket desk when you arrive. Your ticket will be valid for 12 calendar months, which will allow you to visit as often as you like when we reopen in 2025.

Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event.
