Explore and capture the unique sounds of our sculpture gardens with Sound Artist Alice Boyd and bring your family closer to the natural world.
Alice will introduce you to field recording techniques, and give you tips for capturing sounds from the world around us. You will have the chance to practice your new skills in the serene setting of the gardens, recording the many different sounds of the animals, plants, bugs, weather and artworks that surround you.
The workshop is particularly suitable for beginners, but we welcome all levels of experience. By the end of the session, you will have tried field recording for yourself, created group soundscapes and gained insights into the art of listening and recording as a powerful tool for creative expression and environmental awareness.
This session is suitable for families with children age 5+, we encourage intergenerational activity. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
