Introducing free workshops for schools

Do you teach Primary School Juniors in Harlow or Stevenage? Would you like to join us for a free site visit and workshop in 2023?

We have heard your feedback, and know that many of you would like to experience workshops with your school groups at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens.

In response to this we have created a temporary project space for 2023, in which we will be running free workshops for schools throughout June and July.

We are looking to welcome local schools with sculpture town and new town narratives to partake in free workshops and site visits for Key Stage Two year groups in the summer term.

About the workshops

Workshops are designed to engage inspire and question, offering a range of materials and activity to encourage creativity and experimentation.

Students will consider scale, 2D-3D dimensions, and ways of seeing art in the everyday in reference to unique opportunities available on site. They will produce creative outcomes developing sculptural skills, be introduced to figurative and abstract ideas and language, and gain knowledge of a great artist in a historical and cultural context.

Workshops will be delivered in a considered way that feels relevant to the students’ own lives and local area.
