Activities

You might get messy in these sessions, so please do dress accordingly.

Plasticine Printing

In this printing activity we’ll use Henry-Moore-inspired natural objects to make impressions in plasticine, creating wonderful prints to takeaway.

Nature Colour Hunt

Hunt for colour around our site with this interactive session taking place in the gardens.

Stick Sculpting

Using twigs found in the grounds as materials, we’ll make and paint sculptures to remember your visit to Henry Moore Studios & Gardens.

Bird Seed & Feed

Have you ever wondered what the birds think of Henry Moore’s Sculptures?

In this session you can string together a fruit and vegetable sculpture to hang in your own garden or local park, and ensure the birds become even bigger fans of Moore!

Modroc Magic

Come and take part in a session which celebrates the magic of all things Modroc, making impressions of natural objects collected in the gardens.

Flower Sculpting

Come along and make a small sculpture, inspired by the flower’s found in Irina’s garden behind Hoglands, the Moore’s former home.

Mud Painting Session

Let’s get messy in this experimental paint play session, making use of mud from the gardens.

Potato Printing

This printing session encourages you to play with your food and see what unusual materials you can use to make art with.

Join us to make prints with potatoes, inspired by the sheep field here on site that used to grow potatoes before Large Reclining Figure moved in.

Moore Mobiles

Join us in making hanging mobiles, inspired by shapes and objects that can be found around our site.

You might be inspired by Moore’s sculptures or a beautiful leaf; whatever you find interesting will help you to make a wonderful hanging encounter of Perry Green to treasure at home.

Nature Brushes & Painting

Join us for a hunt around the gardens, as we search for natural objects to make into paint brushes. You can then use your new brush to make your very own painting to take home.

Drawing in the Gardens

Join us for a session of relaxed drawing in the grounds. We’ll move around the gardens, taking inspiration from the sculptures in this year’s Encounters display.

Bluebell Planting | Lavender Cutting | Vegetable Picking

These sessions require a green thumb! Join us to pick vegetables, take cuttings from the gardens and plant flowers around our site.
