Join us to celebrate International Sculpture Day. Take part in free, drop-in activities dedicated to creating and understanding sculpture in our surroundings.

International Sculpture Day is a worldwide event which aims to advance the creation and understanding of sculpture. On the last Saturday of April each year we celebrate the community, the work and the love of sculpture and its unique contribution to society.

Assemble: Gather & Sculpt

Shape, scale and sculpt assemblages, using an array of natural, reclaimed and recycled materials. Do you think you can make something like what you’ve seen outside, or a totally original creation of your own? Feel the textures, notice the tones and watch the materials transform before your eyes!

Recollections: Curator’s Talk

Join Laura Bruni, Acting Senior Curator Collections & Research, to hear her personal highlights and reflections on Henry Moore’s monumental sculptures. Come to learn about Moore’s materials and processes, participate in slow looking, and observe nature actively interacting with the outdoor artworks.

Join our community of volunteer guides for a walking tour of the sculptural scenes of Perry Green. Listen to anecdotes of times gone by and bring your curiosity and questions for our knowledgeable guides Catherine and Chris.

This event is included in an annual ticket. It is a drop-in event, so there’s no need to book.

  • If you already have an annual ticket, just come along on the day and bring your annual ticket with you.
  • If you do not have an annual ticket, you can buy one online or from the ticket desk when you arrive and return to the Studios & Gardens as often as you like, during open season, for 12 calendar months.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event.
