Each Sunday during the summer holidays, you’ll find soft sculpting materials in our Sheep Field Barn. Drop in and enjoy shaping, squishing, stacking, scaling, and balancing your own soft sculptures.
Do you think you can make something like what you’ve seen outside, or a totally original creation of your own? Feel the textures, notice the tones and watch the materials transform before your eyes!
A friendly member of our team will be there to give you any help you might need. They can also show you some of Henry Moore’s original tools, and share a little more about how he made the artworks that you’ll see during the rest of your visit.
We’re pleased to have a new artwork as part of Sunday Soft Sculpt, created by local teacher Hannah Lines from Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls, Romford. We like how her scalable, interactive sculpture shares some thought-provoking similarities with Moore’s own ways of working. After a visit to Henry Moore Studios & Gardens last year, Hannah was inspired to make this sculpture for an ARTIST Educators exhibition. Feel free to ask our team more about it when you visit!
