Established by one of the great sculptors of the twentieth century, our core aim at The Henry Moore Foundation is to enable as many people as possible to enjoy and appreciate sculpture.

Vacancies

Digital Collections Assistant

Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, Hertfordshire
Part Time (28 hours per week)
Salary: £17,600-£18,400 (£22,000-23,000 pro rata) + 12.5% pension contribution and other benefits

This flexible, part-time role is an excellent opportunity to join a busy collections and curatorial team in a friendly and team-focused culture, where your digital skills and online presentational flair can flourish.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a degree in an arts or humanities subject, an excellent eye for visual and textual detail and competent database skills to assist in the updating, review and maintenance of our collections databases. Our ideal candidate would bring experience in collections management systems, but full training will be given in TMS software as required.

This is an ideal role for someone seeking a career in museums, galleries, collections management or research. Based in a beautiful, rural location, this role also offers the opportunity for some homeworking, subject to our Hybrid Homeworking Policy. The working pattern is negotiable and hours can be worked over 4 full days or 5 part days, Monday to Friday.

Family Engagement Coordinator

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 + 12.5% pension contribution and other benefits

This is a great new opportunity to plan and deliver a programme of vibrant, and appealing participatory family events and activities at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, that help to bring Henry Moore and his work to life for children and their accompanying adults.

The Henry Moore Foundation, established by one of the greatest sculptors of the twentieth century, owns the largest collection of the artist’s work, which visitors can appreciate at his former home, gardens and studios in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, near Bishop’s Stortford.

We are looking to appoint an excellent organiser and ‘people person’ who is able to engage with a range of people from all backgrounds to deliver an exciting programme of fun events to increase family attendance. You will develop self-guided resources such as art packs and trails, as well as resources that encourage families to enjoy nature in our beautiful grounds.

The successful candidate will have at least two years’ experience in a family engagement role within a museum, gallery or heritage environment or as a leader of creative workshops. You will have a degree or equivalent level of study in a relevant subject and have great hands-on practical skills. You will be target-driven and highly audience focused. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

Volunteering

Volunteering with one of our teams offers first-hand insight into the work of one of the world’s most notable sculptors, and the chance to experience the day-to-day operation of an international arts organisation. Our volunteers help us to continue Henry Moore’s mission to encourage public appreciation of the visual arts.

There are currently no vacancies for volunteers at the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds.

Volunteer gardeners

Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, Hertfordshire 

Recruiting volunteer gardeners to help maintain the sculpture gardens at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens.

The gardens were designed by Moore and his wife Irina, they are predominantly rural in appearance and comprise approximately 70 acres of ponds, hedgerows, orchards, sheep fields, woodlands, lawns and a small kitchen garden.

Archive volunteers

Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, Hertfordshire 

The Henry Moore Archive comprises over three-quarters of a million items created and collected from the artist’s working life to the present day. Our collections include publications, documents, images, film & audio recordings and ephemera related to Henry Moore.

We are currently seeking two volunteers to assist in scanning and rehousing our drawings archive.
