New library acquisitions: Spring 2026

Cover of the books Internet Art: From the Birth of the Web to the Rise of NFTs and New Humans: Memories of the Future.

New additions to the library this season offer perspectives ranging from the history of digital and post-digital artmaking to examples of contemporary creative practice.

Visitors to Phantasmagoria: Folkloric Sculpture for the Digital Age who wish to further explore the relationship between art and digital technologies will find an expanded selection of titles in the library this spring.

Internet Art, a new publication from Phaidon surveys artists and innovators working in the networked world from 1989 to the present. The book examines how the internet has opened up new possibilities for artists working across both analogue and digital media.

Another key title linked to artists in the exhibition is The Delusion by Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley. Published to accompany a groundbreaking video game commission and exhibition at the Serpentine (2024-25), the monograph offers insight into the project, exploring themes of polarisation, intersectionality and social connection while introducing the artist’s wider practice.
