New library acquisitions: Winter 2025

An open attaché case, book and musical score by Japanese artist Mieko Shiomi.

New additions to the library this season include three limited edition multiples – small  artworks designed to be accessible.

Japanese artist, Mieko Shiomi, a pioneer of the Fluxus movement, generously donated several examples of her work in the form of two attaché cases and a small wooden box, each containing musical scores, objects and recordings connected to her performances. They join a number of multiples in the library’s special collections available to view on request.

Alongside these Fluxus related works, we received several new publications from projects supported by the Foundation including Claye Bowler’s handmade songbook, Dig me a Grave, produced to accompany the artist’s exhibition held in the Chapel at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Further new additions to the shelves include recently published titles on sculptors represented in the Leeds Sculpture Collection, including a study of Ivan Meštrović (1883-1962) and an overview of work of Ro Robertson, Yorkshire Sculpture International Network artist in 2022.

The library’s collections on historical and contemporary sculpture are free to use, and everyone is welcome.
