About this activity

Come along this Easter to carve your own plaster egg into your own wonderful work of art, inspired by the Egg Forms made by Henry Moore.

Use a selection of tools to make interesting marks and scratch into plaster, just like Moore did!

You’re welcome to take home whatever you make as a reminder of your unique sculpting abilities.

Tickets

Entry is included in an annual ticket. This event is drop-in, so there’s no need to book. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • If you already have an annual ticket, just come along on the day and bring your annual ticket with you.
  • If you don’t have an annual ticket, you can buy one online or from the ticket desk when you arrive.

An annual ticket lets you return to Studios & Gardens as often as you like, during open season, for 12 calendar months.

Safety & accessibility

Children must be accompanied by adults, to ensure the safe use of the materials on offer during these sessions.

These sessions are suggested at ages 4+, however younger visitors may also take part at their guardians’ discretion. The sessions are widely self-led and so designed with all ages and abilities in mind.

Activities can be altered based on the needs of the participant. Please speak to a member of staff in the Learning Studios to request any necessary adjustments.

In this drop-in session we will be working with small and sharp metal tools to scratch into the surface of plaster. Dust will be produced during this activity. There are extractor fans in the learning Studios, and PPE will be available

Alternative sculpting materials will be available in the session for younger visitors to make egg forms with.

You might get messy in these sessions, so please don’t wear your best clothes! Sturdy footwear is recommended.
