Activities

You might get messy in these sessions – please do not wear your Sunday best to Sunday sculpt!

Shape Shifting

Build a sculpture out of giant shapes inspired by the natural environment of Perry Green. The massive, multicoloured cardboard pieces will slot together to make a sculpture with infinite possibilities.

Flint Families

Join this drop-in session to look at the flint-inspired works of Moore. Come along and use plasticine and flint to build your own maquettes, just as Henry Moore did.

Shape, Slot & Sculpt

Come along to this drop-in sculpting session, with endless potential. Take advantage of the variety of sculpting materials on offer to shape, slot and sculpt your own creation to take away with you!

Working with Wire

In this drop-in sculpting session, we’ll use wire to create a skeleton or ‘armature’ for a small sculpture on a wooden plinth. You can then use the materials on offer to cover up the wire or build on top of it.

Collaboration Station

This drop-in sculpting session will focus on the importance of collaboration. Sculpt a collection of different shapes from the materials provided, and then swap half of them with someone else taking part to see how the power of collaboration can change your own artwork!

Floral Foam Fun

Come along and carve your own sculpture out of floral foam brick, inspired by Moore’s own use of carving throughout his career.

Self Portraits

A family fun session where you are invited to sculpt your family member’s face. Sit opposite your chosen model and sculpt from life with the materials available, inspired by Moore and his various works of his own family members

Mixing Mediums

This drop-in sculpting session will focus on the importance of mixing different mediums. Sculpt a collection of different shapes out of five different materials provided, then attach them together to make a single combined sculpture.

Playing with Plinths

Make a quick, small sculpture to take for a stroll around the grounds, and snap pictures of it on different plinths. Some plinths might be small, and some much bigger – there might even be some for you to stand on, so you yourself become the sculpture!

Maquette Making

Drop by our maquette making session and have a go at making your own mini sculpture. We will be looking at Henry Moore’s own maquettes as inspiration for this session.

Papier Mache

Let’s get messy for this papier mache drop-in session! Join us to make your very own wonderful paper sculpture. They are stronger and cooler than you think.

Giant Collaborative Sessions

Join us for the last two weeks of Sunday Sculpt to make a giant collaborative sculpture. Lots of mess and materials and fun to be had.
