Make & Curate: Reimagining the Gardens

12:00–16:00, last entry 15:30

Learning Studios, Sheep Field Barn

Studios & Gardens, Hertfordshire

Included in an annual ticket

A child making a sculpture from stones and modelling clay.

About this activity

Calling all budding makers and curators!

In today’s sculpting studio, grab an apron and make a set of tiny sculptures – as well as your very own garden – out of the variety of materials on offer.

You are then invited to become THE curator of the future, and decide where the sculptures should be placed around your reimagined sculpture garden.

Tickets

Entry is included in an annual ticket. This event is drop-in, so there’s no need to book. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • If you already have an annual ticket, just come along on the day and bring your annual ticket with you.
  • If you don’t have an annual ticket, you can buy one online or from the ticket desk when you arrive.

An annual ticket lets you return to Studios & Gardens as often as you like, during open season, for 12 calendar months.

Safety & accessibility

Children must be accompanied by adults, to ensure the safe use of the materials on offer during these sessions.

These sessions are suggested at ages 4+, however younger visitors may also take part at their guardians’ discretion. The sessions are widely self-led and so designed with all ages and abilities in mind.

Activities can be altered based on the needs of the participant. Please speak to a member of staff in the Learning Studios to request any necessary adjustments.

In this session we will be using lots of glue and getting even messier than usual with a variety of sculpting materials and paints, so please don’t wear your best clothes! Sturdy footwear is recommended.

We will also make use of hot glue to make our garden sets. We kindly ask that no children use hot glue guns, only their supervising adults. PVA glue will be available for our little makers and curators to use.

This workshop is subject to availability of materials and space in the Sheep Field Barn. Workshops are frequently busy, so we advise arriving early to not miss out.

Last entry is 30 minutes before the activity closes.
