About this event

An introduction to sculpture for our tiniest visitors and their grown-ups.

Join us for a relaxed tour of the galleries to explore our new exhibition Phantasmagoria: Folkloric Sculpture for the Digital Age, then head upstairs to our Studio for a sensory play session.

Phantasmagoria introduces artists who explore crossovers between folklore and digital culture, creating installations, video works and sculptures and challenging the idea of what sculpture can be. Upstairs in our Studio, the babies will explore a sensory space filled with objects and textures related to the exhibition.

We hope that these free sessions provide a chance for parents, grandparents and carers to socialise and explore our exhibitions, while also providing enriching, playful experiences for babies.

Tickets

Gallery Babies is suitable for babies up to 13 months and their grown-ups.

Tickets for this workshop are free, but please book in advance via Eventbrite as places are limited.

Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.

The workshop will take place in the Studio, our new workshop space on the second floor of the building.

Accessibility

Step-free entrance

Our accessible entrance is on Cookridge Street, with a lift (doors 100cm wide) bringing you onto the ground floor of the building.

Internal lift

There is an internal passenger lift (doors 76cm wide) to all floors of the building.

Pushchairs & bags

You can store pushchairs and bags in the Studio during the event. Smaller items can be stored in lockers on the basement level.

Toilets

The Studio has its own toilet facilities, including one accessible superloo (self-contained cubicle with toilet and sink) and two additional gender-neutral superloos.

Baby changing

There are baby-changing facilities within the Studio’s toilets. Additional baby-changing facilities are located on the basement level, within one of our gender-neutral superloos.

Quiet space

The Studio has a dedicated quiet space for those needing a break from noisy activities.
